Air ambulance in Manipur soon

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has sanctioned Rs 25 crore to introduce air ambulance service in remote locations of Manipur, Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has said.

Interacting with media persons at the Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday, the Manipur Governor Dr Najma said the amount was sanctioned by the DoNER Ministry after she personally moved the proposal in a recent meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC).

“Discussions are on to decide the proposed air medical service delivery model in the state,” the Governor said.

She hoped the usefulness of the service of flying doctors would be able to reach and help people in remote locations of the state.

On the other hand, Dr Najma also called on the people to join the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India.

“We’re putting efforts together to have everybody involved into this Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Cleanliness is seva because we do the seva not only to our people but to our country,” she stated._________________
