A lower court in Dibrugarh remanded Akhil Gogoi to fourteen days judicial custody after police produced the peasant leader before it following the end of police custody.
Police sought Gogoi in their remand again for ten days to intensity the probe. But the court rejected it and sent the KMSS leader to the jail who was arrested for his open appeal to the people to remain prepared for armed struggle if the government fails to deliver the goods.
Gogoi is set to move another bail plea before the court on Tuesday. Before that he was brought to the court amid tight security ad hundreds of KMSS activists shouted slogans demanded immediate release of Akhil Gogoi.
