Ex ULFA leader quizzed, freed

The police probing the public comment against Jiten Dutta  have withdrawn the case on Saturday after the former ULFA rebel personally appeared before them with a note of clarification.

Dutta, the hardcore ULFA rebel who enjoyed close association with Paresh Baruah arrived in the Moran police station where the investigation officers who booked him questioned him on his recent comment.

A confident Dutta cleared his position elaborating his conscience and under what circumstances he passed the comment. Then the police officials recorded the statements and asked him to quit.

Dutta was booked for his open remark that he was prepared to restart armed struggle, if need be, to safeguard the interest of the indigenous people.
