Bengali body demands CBI probe

The All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation (AIBYSF) and All Assam Bengali Youth Student's Federation (BBYSF) will stage sit-in-demonstration on September 7 at Dispur last gate in Guwahati demanding CBI probe into the Silapothar and Nagaon incident.

Speaking the News Conference held at Amala Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Sunday, Shyamal Sarkar, president of All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation and Deepak Dey, president of the Assam state federation demanded stern actions against incidents of Silapothar and Nagaon in the state.

The federation have condemned the Nagaon incident which had created resented among the citizens, said that it was created by some so called activities to indulge misunderstanding in the state. They accused of Chief Minister, who had well known about both incidents held at Silapothar and Nagaon, but yet he has been keeping silence into situations.

Three persons died and another sustained serious injury when a vehicle rammed into them at Dangaigaon on the National Highway No 31 in Chirang on Sunday. The angry local residents in large number blocked the vital road for many hours demanding action against the culprit adequate compensation. Forest staff and Dotma police, once again seized Sal logs at Bhutiapara village near Balanga bazaar along the Gongia River which were brought by timber smugglers through river wave under Dotma PS in Kokrajhar district early this morning.
