Bengali body demands CBI probe

The All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation (AIBYSF) and All Assam Bengali Youth Student's Federation (BBYSF) will stage sit-in-demonstration on September 7 at Dispur last gate in Guwahati demanding CBI probe into the Silapothar and Nagaon incident.

Speaking the News Conference held at Amala Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Sunday, Shyamal Sarkar, president of All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation and Deepak Dey, president of the Assam state federation demanded stern actions against incidents of Silapothar and Nagaon in the state.

The federation have condemned the Nagaon incident which had created resented among the citizens, said that it was created by some so called activities to indulge misunderstanding in the state. They accused of Chief Minister, who had well known about both incidents held at Silapothar and Nagaon, but yet he has been keeping silence into situations.

Zaraguri GBF, Gossaigaon beat Bongaigaon Star XI 9-8 via tie breaker shot in the Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup football championship on Thuesday  evening at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar. Barhoongkha beat Jharkhand

Barhoongkha AC, Kokrajhar defeated SE Railway, Jharkhand 3-0 in the Daoharu Mungkhlong football trophy being played at Dotma HS school ground in Kokrajhar district today.  Ajit Karjee of Barhoongkha netted his goal against Jharkhand in 27 minutes of first half and led the match 1-0. Dhrubojyoti Brahma of Barhoongkha scored two goals in 72 minutes and 77 minutes against Jharkhand and won the match 3-0. ASEB, Guwahati will take on Salbagan FC, Gossage on tomorrow.  

Cattle smugglers arrested

Six cattle smugglers were arrested by police at Uttarpara under Gossaigaon PS in Kokrajhar district early Monday morning along with six Buffaloes, which were carried by a auto van.

Bodoland Gold Cup kicks off

Dhupdhara Football Academy,Goalpara beat Namchi SAI,Sikkim 2-1 in the inaugural match of 17th Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup football championship,2016 being kicked off from Sunday at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar district. In the very beginning of the match,A Biswakarma of Namchi SAI netted first goal in 2 minutes against Dhupdhara. City Police beat Coochbehar

City Police, Guwahati beat Coochbehar Municipality Recreation Club, West Bengal 2-0 in the Daoharu Mungkhlong Football trophy being played at Dotma HS school ground in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. Anildom Das netted his first goal in 11 minutes against Coochbehar for City Police and led the 1-0 in first half. Again, Amujao Singh scored another goal in 92 minutes in second half against Coochbehar which led the team to win 2-0 in the match. Bardwishikla A, Kachugaon will take on Zaraguri GBF, Gossaigaon in first quarter final on Monday.

Global Hand Washing Day observed

Salbagan beat Bongaigaon XI

Salbagan FC, Gossaigaon beat Bongaigaon XI 7-0 in the Daoharu Mubgkhlong football trophy being played at Dotma HS ground in Kokrajhar district today.  For Salbagan, Mithinga Narzary alone scored four goals in 21 minutes, 62 minutes, 64 minutes,72 minutes, Arjun Mardi scored two goals in 35 minutes, 80 minutes and Lwithw Basumatary scored a goal in 37 minutes. Bongaigaon tried to reduced the goals, but failed to score any goal and lost to Salbagan 0-7.  City Police, Guwahati is taking on Coochbehar Municipality Recreation Club, West Bengal on Sunday.  

3 arrested

Kokrajhar district police in association Kachugaon and Gossaigaon police apprehended three persons from two different places for involving with bike lifting and human trafficking cases today in Kokrajhar district. Kachugaon police nabbed a person identified as Ananias Murmu of Lothamari village under Kachugaon PS along with a Yamaha bike bearing registration no. AS 16E-5357. He was involved with various stealing cases in the area. In separate incident, Gossaigaon police arrested two persons, who tried to take away two girls from Tamarhat area by an autho rickshaw. Coochbehar won Daoharu Mungkhlong

Coochbehar Municipality Recreation Club, West Bengal beat DASA XI, Dotma 1-0 in the Daoharu Mungkhlong Football trophy at Dotma HS school ground in Kokrajhar district on Saturday. Arbindo Paul netted lone goal in 73 minutes of second half against DASA which led Coochbehar to win 1-0 in the match.Salbagan FC, Gossaigaon will be taking on Bongaigaon XI on Sunday.
