Various Bodo organizations in BTAD have announced a series of fresh agitation to revive the struggle for a separate Bodoland. 

These include ABSU and its allied groups NFFB, NDFB-P and PJACBM who are prepared to mount pressure on thr Centre with series of agitation from August 28 in the form of national highway blockade, mass hunger strike etc.

The agitation was finalized at a joint meeting at the Bodofa House on Sunday in Kokrajhar where the leaders pledged to go all out for the demand. 

ABSU president Promod Boro said  they would demanded sn early solution of the issue through political dialogue. He has slammed the BJP led NDA government for not taking any bold steps while solving the Bodoland issue. He said that though the BJP had promised to solve the Bodoland issue in their 2014 election manifesto, but till today no any measures were reached. 

He said that militant leaders of NDFB, who are still in jail should be released without any conditions in the line of the ULFA as the NDFB are in ceasefire with government. He has urged the government to make early solution of the NDFB problems.   

Gavinda Basumatary, NDFB-P general secretary said that the movement groups declared more agitation programmes to put pressure government for the solution of Bodoland issue. He has put demand of early creation of Bodoland state. 

They announced a series of agitation programmes seeking solution of Bodoland, which included 10 hours national Highway blockade by women on 28th August,  12 hours Assam bandh on 12 September, mass hunger strike from October 1, railway blockade in October, indefinite economic blockade from November next.

Footballer Apurna Narzary to receive Emerging Player award in Bodoland Territorial Region

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar. BTR Peace Accord Day celebrated

On Friday, the government of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) observed the third BTR Peace Accord Day as "Day of Peace" on Friday.  A massive bike peace rally was held in Kokrajhar, the "City of Peace." Three individuals, including former MLA and senior BPF (Bodoland People's Front) leader Hitesh Basumatary, were arrested by police in Baksa district after a search operation at Basumatary's residential complex resulted in the recovery of a large cache of illegal arms and ammunition. The recovered items included an AK rifle, an M-16 rifle, and 135 rounds of live ammunition.
