Elderly woman murdered in Kokrajhar
An elderly woman was murdered by her son-in-law at Samsingkila Salkonta village under Karigaon police outpost late last night in Kokrajhar district. Death body was identified as Ante Basumatary(50) and body has been brought Kokrajhar for post mortem.
According to Biron Basumatary, son of Ante said that his mother was found murdered on Wednesday evening by 6.45pm while she was on way to her house from a bazaar. She deals in of a small tea stall in her Dorompur village near Karigaon. She was dragged to death with sharp weapon by her own son in law Mantu Basumatary, who hailed from Islakata Gurubasha of Chirang district. Culprit Mantu is absconding after incident.
Police started investigation into incident.

Dr. Boro has been named for the translation of her book Hirimba (originally written in Assamese by Jayanti Gogoi)

KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station.
According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station.
