World Red Cross Day celebrated

The World Red Cross Day was observed at the Doomni Tea Estate in Baksa district on May 8 under the auspices of the Baksa District Administration. On this occasion, a free health checkup camp was held in collaboration with the Joint Director of Health Services, Baksa. Free physical examination along with free blood sugar, blood pressure, eye checkup and ECG tests are done in the camp. Doctors, nutrition counselor and other staffs including pharmacists, radiographer, laboratory technicians and nurses have provided humanitarian service in the camp. Free medicines are distributed to more than 300 patients. A meeting is also held on the occasion where Pradip Dutta, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society Baksa District Branch explained the objective of the programmes. He also elaborately explained the significance of the World Red Cross Day.

Sanjeeb Kr. Gogoi, Deputy Commissioner, Baksa, Mriganka Choudhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Baksa, Dr. J. Ahmed, Joint Director of Health Services, Baksa, the Welfare Officer of the Doomni Tea Estate and other staffs have extended helping hand and cooperation to successfully observe the day.
