Security forces apprehended a NDFB-S link man at Hakma under Gossaigaon PS in Kokrajhar district late last evening on Wednesday. Based on specific information, a joint operation was launched by Kokrajhar district Police led by SDPO Gossaigaon along with OC Gossaigaon PS and personnel of 17 Dogra of Army last evening at Hakma and able to arrest a NDFB (S) linkman identified as Pranjit Basumatary @ Bajaj Pulsar @ Tengna ( 35) of Narayanguri village under Gossaigaon PS. On being led by the apprehended accused, the joint operation team recovered a country made pistol and 3 live rounds of .303 ammunition from the house of one of his accomplice namely Swarang Narzary of Ballamjhora village in the night, who is absconding till date. Both are involved in Ranjit Dutta kidnapping case (since rescued by Kokrajhar district Police) which refers to Kokrajhar Police Station case No. 109/2017 U/S 365 IPC.
