There is no height of imagination for artists, all are artists in their own right. However there are exceptional people who like to do things in an exceptional way, share the idea with others and allowing interpretation at the same time. The “AMPHIBIAN” a boat conceptualised by artist, cultural researcher and creative director, Indrani Baruah that sailed in the Brahamaputra gave immense pleasure to the onlookers and inquisitiveness to learn about the boat that cruised from Uzanbazar Ghat to Sualkuchi with 32 people on board. However the journey for all must have been the slowest journey ever taken in their life till date. The raft travelled along the water was hardly one-kilometer-per-hour...
Border minister Siddique Ahmed, made his maiden visit to Garbhanga village on Friday, in the Garbhanga Reserve Forest that is just 18 Kms from Lokhra near the national highway. The visit of the minister has given some light of hope to people living in the Assam-Meghalaya border where localities are deprived of proper medical facilities, electricity, schools and roads. The sad part of the story is that the neighbouring village on the Meghalay side has better ameneties such as electricity and schools. Due to the deprivation of the Assam Government and development programmes there are villages where Meghalay govt. has set up schools and provided water supply. Thus Assam losing its own...

However, in a unique development, the dull reserve forest of Garbhanga, in Assam-Meghalaya border has also echoed with the beats of Bihu "Dhol" for the first time, however not enough to bring back the lives of hundreds of trees felled like Michael Jackson's video song "EARTH".What legs of strength and heart of passion does one needs to repeat and repeat the same Bihu dance steps for more than 6 hours at a stretch? Yes, this is more about passion and grabbing the opportunity that has knocked the village of Jalukpaham, in Garbhanga reserve...
Society is ever changing and the people like to see its reflection in any available form, be it through music, paintings, drama, film, literature etc. As we all like to see our reflection in the mirror there is no reason why we can’t appreciate and devote time for drama. Perhaps drama is the best way that can reflect our society in the best possible way, thus leaving deep impression in the mind and heart of the spectators and prompting them to ponder and introspect. Drama, though has evolved since long time has been a part and partial of our society, but in real terms it has yet to capture the imagination of our conservative society, just to talk about the Assamese society where acting...

People all over the world along with the state of Assam, today celebrated the world environment day, with much attention from the media and real and fake environment lovers. What for than those who give a damn to this celebration and ridicule it the very next day, including forest officials, so called the boss of the jungles. So, promises are only meant to be broken and it is nothing strange. Talking about forest protection and environment concern only looks good in grand meetings and not so much on practical ground. The easiest thing in this world to do is to criticise and that is what I am doing, but I know this should not cross the limit. However sometimes extreme things...
