IITians held on molestation charges

The North Guwahati police have arrested two IITGuwahati students on molestation charges during a recent festival inside the campus of the country’s premier seat of science and technology.

Identified as Ajoy Dey and Kunal Kumar, the duo were picked up from Chiyang Hostel early in the morning acting on a complaint lodged against them.

According to the complaint, three students out of whom one is absconding, molested three Gauhati University girls at night on February 2 when the IITG was holding the Alchengra festival at its campus.

Three victim trio gave their statements before a lower court in Guwahati on Wednesday. Police operation is going on in search of the absconding student who along with two others allegedly molested the varsity girls using drugs.
