Three ultras held

Security forces apprehended three NDFB-S cadres from Taisoguri under Runikhata PS on Chirang district today. 

Based on inputs about presence of the militant cadres in tgd area, a joint team of police abd army carried out a search operation and apprehended the cadres at a house if Prahalad Mushahary where they were hiding.They were identified as Dakaru Mushahary, Kapilau Basunatary and Birjay Mushahary. 

 A 7.65 mm pistol, two magazines, a country made pistol, two grenades, four round ammunitions were recovered from them.

MLA Mevani produced in court in Kokrajhar

Amid a strict security vigil, arrested Gujrat Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani was brought to Kokrajhar police station and later produced before the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court. Ganja smuggler sustained bullet injuies

KOKRAJHAR: A Ganja smuggler was shot at by police in the Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district late Wednesday night. The incident happened  in Kokrajhar in Bishmuri. KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. The arrested persons were identified as Hasanur Rahman, Mithun Miya of Mankachar and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar. Hagrama Mohilary, BPF chief, released on bail

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020. KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station. Badminton Championship Concludes

Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. All together 95 teams of across the state  participated in a championship that saw a healthy sporting environment in the region which was organised by Kokrajhar District Badminton Association (KDBA). Lightning kills 3 in Chirang

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead. The deceased were identified as Dilip Mushahary (40), Rayanti Basumatary (40) and Mangkeswar Basumatary (45).
