National handloom expo in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar is all set to host National Handloom Expo 2016-17 of BRAWFED at Sudempuri ground near JD Road in Kokrajhar town starting December 30.

Speaking to Assam Times at the expo venue at Sudempuri in Kokrajhar, Bodoland Regional Apex Weavers & Artisan Cooperatives Federation Limited (BRAWFED) managing director NN Rana Patgiri told that all kinds of prepraration to host the national handloom expo has far completed, which would be started from December 30 with 20-days long scheduled in Kokrajhar. He said that nearly 100 stalls from different states of the country and districts of Assam,which included Assam, Northeastern states, Haryana, Rajasthan,Jammu & Kashmir,Punjab,Bihar,West Bengal,Chhatisgarh,Uttar Pradesh,Delhi etc are participating in the expo with their own state handloom products. He said that a customer assistance centre has also been setting up in the ground office market survey and analysis of demands,needs,preference of buyers of northeastern states area through the national handloom expo.

BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary will grace as chief guest on the inaugural function tomorrow, Biswajit Daimary,Rajya Sabha MP will be attending as guest. At-least two crores of marketing has been expected in the national handloom expo,Patgiri said.
