Poacher surrender in KNP

Balak Singh Teron, a dreaded poacher involved in the killing of rhinos in the Kaziranga National Park has surrendered before the forest department on 6th August. It is worth mentioning here that on the previous day another poacher named Lansingh Terang has also surrendered before the forest department.

According to sources these surrenders was the result of incessant efforts made by the forest officer Iqramul Mazid in association with local Karbi people and Burapahar forest based Natun Danga Eco Development Society. The surrendered poachers assure the forest department of their full co-operation in any operation against poachers.
