3 dead bodies recovered from various parts of Udalguri
Sensation prevails in Udalguri district following the recovery of three dead bodies in various locations. Reportedly Panery police recovered the dead body of one Gauranga Das (50) a resident of Babupara locality under Panery PS. The dead body was recovered from a urinal tank Monsibasti area. Panery Police arrested Biren Das alias Bira,Umesh Deka and Bapan Das in this connection. A case vide 75/16 under 302/201/34 IPC have been registered at Panery PS.
Meanwhile Dimakuchi Police recovered body of Madhu Munda(50) from 2 No. Bamunjuli area under Dimakuchi PS. Reportedly the accused Mangra Munda and his entire family has been absconding . Land dispute is suspected to be the reason behind the incident.
Dimakuchi Police also recovered a beheaded body of one Munna Narzary from 3 No. Bhutiachang area. Some unknown miscreants hands is suspected in the gruesome murder. Dimakuchi PS have registered a case vide 107/16 and 106/16 respectively. Further investigations are on.

TANGLA:Over loaded dumpers carrying construction materials, of late, have started unleashing a huge havoc on the Mangaldai-Bhutiachang SH-4 these days. A couple of lives has already lost. More such incidents are in store if this havoc us not properly done away with. TANGLA: The teachers and students of Tangla College bad farewell to teacher Jayanta Kr. Chakravarty on his retirement on Wednesday. In his farewell address he advised the students to trace out the positive aspects and hone their skills theirby channelizing their mind to pursue subjects where one is passionate. Prof. Chakravarty, the prolific writer started his literary activities as an essayist, a translator and then a sucessfull short story writer in Assamese who received Katha Award for Creative Fiction (1997), Eka Ebong Koekjon Sahitya Sangskriti Sanman (2001) among other awards.
UDALGURI: The Udalguri district committee of All Koch-Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU) is preparing to enforce a 24 hour long Udalguri district bandh on February 15 alleging failure of BTAD administration to keep its promises. Talking to reporters, Aranya Deka, A Saikia and B. Rajbongshi, alleged that despite full support to the ruling BPF in the last BTC elections, the BTC authority did not fulfill its assurance to construct a students’ hostel for the community at Udalguri and intentionally directed to construct it outside Udalguri town area.The decision was taken at a district unit meeting of AKRSU, where the leaders criticized the present role of the BTC authority in the region.

UDALGURI: The Sikh community of Udalguri and Darrang celebrated the 350th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh with religious fervour at Tangla in Udalguri on Friday. They celebrated the occasion at the Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha. Sikh devotees, including women and children, from different parts of the district gathered at the Gurudwara since morning and offered their prayers.Devotees read out the scriptures of Sukhmani Sahib and recited kirtan, which spread the messages of love and harmony among the people. UDALGURI: The Gorkha students in BTAD areas are not at all happy with BTC. The council has been running without anybody to represent them. This was what the All Assam Gorkha Students' Union has written to Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi who has assured them of steps to address the concern. In the memorandum to Mukhi, the student organization deplored that even after three years BTC has not nominated even a single Gorkha person to represent them against the provision of six persosn.
