Tangla HS gets new principal
The members of Tangla Press Club has welcomed Dilip Kr Baruah new principal of Tangla Higher Secondary school at a special felicitation programme held at Tangla Press Club premises on Wednesday. The programme was presided over by Bapan Sarma President of Tangla Press Club.
Dr. Dilip Kr. Baruah who joined Tangla HS school as a assistant teacher in January 1996 holds dual degree in Political Science and Assamese along with diploma in Bodo language,besides holding B.Ed, M.Phil and Phd degrees took the charge as principal on October 7 last.
Baruah is also model farmer and popular as a orator and motivator. Baruah born in Khareng village of Udalguri district was formerly associated as a correspondent with vernacular Assamese daily Aji.The people and organisations of greater Tangla area have accorded warm welcome to the new principal of the institute .

Tangla Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Pherengadao NGO members rescued two children from Tangla railway station on Saturday. The rescued kids were identified as Kaushik Adhikari (14) S/O Dhiren Adhikari, a resident of Debottar village under Golokganj PS of Dhubri district and Jyoti Rajput (14) of Uttar Pradesh. The girl child Jyoti stated that she was accompanied by a man to Tangla railway station. A robbery attempt was foiled in the town not by the police, but by citizens on Tangla on Friday. Reportedly, a bag snatcher allegedly attempted to snatch a bag containing cash of sixty thousand from a lady named Kalpana Baruah who just withdrew the amount from UCO bank ,when she raised voice and locals caught hold of him and thrased the youth.The public later handed over the youth to police who have now detained the youth at Tangla police station.
