NDA has received a marginal shot on its arm in the move to amend The Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 when the Bodo Peoples’ Front has come in full support of the Bill that triggers statewide protest. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday the coalition partner president Hagrama Mohilary said that they have reasons to support the move.
“We support the move to amend the Bill to accept the Hindu migrants. It would have no adverse impact on Assam,” said Hagrama.
But we don’t endorse the idea of accepting the Muslim migrants,” said the BTAD chief who arrived in the capital on Monday to formally give his party’s stand on the crucial issue. BPF’s position assumes importance at a time when its counterpart AGP has decided to oppose the move.
