Cong ready to take on BJP in Lakhimpur

Assam Congress in ran and file are gearing up to take on BJP in the upcoming Lakhimpur by polls slated for November 19.
Party leaders in Delhi and Dispur have been hunkering down to finalise the name of the candidate who is set to be announced in a day or two.
“We have cleared the panel of the candidates and it is for the party high command to finalise,” said a party leader in Delhi.
The oppostion party leaders in Assam told Assam Times that an emerging anti incumbancy wave would help them win the by polls.
“The people have already understood that BJP is going to ruin the country. BJP and the Modi Government have been failing to deliver the goods. We want to strike the advantage,” said a senior party leader.
Newly appointed APCC president Ripun Bora is expected to come to New Delhi to get the name cleared in a day or two.
The Lok Sabha constituency fell vacant after Sarbananda Sonowal resigned for taking over as Assam Chief Minister in May.
