ABSU burns copies of Medical regulation rules

The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) strongly protested government’s step-motherly attitude towards indigenous tribal educational aspects across the state as indigenous tribal students deprives from getting admission into MBBS/BDS courses in the state.The students union activists burnt copies of Medical Colleges of Assam and Regional Dental College,Guwahati(Regulation of Admission into First year MBBS/BDS courses) Rules,2015 at Kokrajhar along RNB Road in Kokrajhar today.

Students union activists slammed the education department for anti-tribal policy as tribal students are deprived from getting doctorial admission in higher studies across the state.Students union activists and citizens shouted slogans against education minister and government citating that government should scrap rules of medical admission and provide equal rights to the students of all categories to meet equal development and spirit of integration.

Kastom Basumatary, ABSU education secretary said, “We want healthy and equal rights while taking higher studies in the state . Don't deprived indigenous tribals in the state while giving educational careers”.

He demanded that early inclusion of indigenous tribal students into medical courses to give higher studies as other community students got admission.
