AAMSU called 10-hours Assam bandh in protest againstKaziranga eviction which had claimed two lives and some others received injuries in the eviction drive carried out yesterday along the Bandordubi area.
The bandh was started from 6 am and conclude by 4 pm in the evening.
Bandh supporters burnt motor tyres at Makrapara along JD Road in protest against eviction and shouted slogans againststate government, demanded early stop of eviction and stop atrocities on innocent Muslim peoples in the name of eviction.
Kokrajhar saw a partial response during bandh hours,bazaar,market,school,colleges,most of the government office and public-private vehicles run as usual on the day. It is to be noted that public and citizens come out to the bazaar and market for marketing.

KOKRAJHAR, DEC 23: In a significant anti-poaching operation, a joint team of police and forest officials apprehended three poachers from 1 No. Donga village near the India-Bhutan border in Tamulpur district on Sunday. The team also seized two handmade rifles and an elephant tusk during the raids.
