Food poisoning claims 1

A minor girl dead and dozen others fell ill after they consumed prasad served at a religious function in Udalguri district on Friday. The tragic incident took place in Kalaigaon area where a ten year old girl died early in the morning. At least 71 others have complained of stomach ace and vomitting hours after they consumed prasad.

The deceased was identified as Dipsikha Nath who died at the Mangaldai Civil Hospital. Talking to media, ADC DN Hazariaka said that the incident took place hours after they consumed prasad at the house of Harakanta Nath on Wednesday.

By an order Sadhana Hojai, District Magistrate of Udalguri has imposed several restrictions and prohibitory orders including Sec 144 under CRPC in the district and banned pillion riding to prevent anti social activities during and before LS poll. Hari Prasad Sarma (45) headmaster of Atharikhat Khoirajhar ME school in Udalguri district has been shot dead my miscreants at 5 am today. According to information three miscreants pumped three bullets from AK series rifle in his school field in the very morning. In a most tragic incident, 19 injured at Udmari near Kalaigaon following identity crisis between villagers and a group of religious minority returning from a religious ceremony on February 27.
