ULFA-I was believed to have deployed some students to carry out armed attack in Tinsukia district to disrupt the Independence Day celebrations.
The startling revelations have surfaced when policemen in the trouble-torn district grilled two school boys.
In their confessional statements, the duo confessed to have planted the bombs in four places in the district from August 11.
The students confessed to have received the bombs from a 4 member ULFA-I team to be planted in the specified spots in the run up to the Independence Day.
Notably, 5 explosions rocked Tinsukia and Charaideo districts on the red letter day where there was no report of any casualty. ULFA-I claimed the responsibility of the explosions opposing the I-Day celebrations.
