Water levels of the river Brahmaputra and its tributaries start receding. But the level of misery of the flood-hit people keeps surging on every passing day.
The flood waters in many areas have gone following the halt of the paralyzing rains. But the affected people have yet to go back as they are yet to get out of the blues.
Many other places in the worst-hit Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sivasagar, Golaghat, Moriogaon, Baksa, Kokrajhar, Bapeta, Nalbari and Dhubri are still reeling under waters.
The famed Kaziranga National park is expected to be clear of floods only after 10-15 days. Many wild animals have been washed away from Kaziranga, Manas and Pobitora by the flood waves.
The government claims to has been providing relief materials to the flood affected people who have been rendered homeless. If the weather remains clear, more areas would be cleared of flood.
