Relief camp inmates deprives facilities

Although schools were reopened from Monday after month long summer vacation across the state,but students along the flood affected areas were deprived from getting educational facilities following washed away road communication,bridges,school complex and houses due to recent heavy floods in Kokrajhar district.

Meanwhile,relief inmates have been facing food crisis and deprives of several facilities in the relief camps.

Flood affected students were peprived from school education along Saralbhanga River at Uttar Patgaon,which the school reopen from Monday after summer vacation.Several villages in Uttar Patgaon area along Saralbhanga River were washed away in recent devastated floods in Kokrajhar district and since then hundreds of flood affected villagers have been taking shelter at relief camps on the END Mataori with facing crisis food stuff as well other relief related materials.

No.246 Guwabari Patgaon LP School was saw locked due to flood affected on Monday as school was reopened after summer vacation and students have left far school going for the day.

Sanendra Mushahary,Ramlal Hazoary,Bihula Wary,Manaj Brahma, flood affected villagers,who are taking shelter in relief camp at Uttar Patgaon told that there is no sufficient food supply from government and district administration since set up of camps along the END Mataori.

‘There were supply of only 9 kgs of rice,200ml mustard oil,250grams of salt,little Dal per family which saw little support for the inmates as 12 days passed away in camps’,inmates said.

School students also have not been able to go school due to washed away of road,bridge,school complex in the village.They alleged that the government and district administration have not been giving sufficient mesaures for the inmates of which why inmates are facing severe miserable condition in the camps.

“Students are not able to attend school due to flood affected along the area as school was reopened from today.We are facing severe hardships in the camps because no sufficient facilities are providing in the area.We will be happy if govt and district administration provide sufficient measures”, said a camp inmate.

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Road mishap kill 2 in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station. Badminton Championship Concludes

Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. Lightning kills 3 in Chirang

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead. TB awareness programme held in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: For increasing the awareness about TB among pregnant mothers and adolescent girls in a meeting, Jon Andalon addressed the citizens and local health workers at Beswargaon and Guwabari Health Centres in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science Centre has been disconnected from electricity supply due to non payment of bills

Electricity to the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science center was cut off because there's an outstanding bill of 1.83 lakh. Due to power cutoff, the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre is currently not functional. Police launched crackdown on NLFB

Police administration have vowed for a strict operation against NLFB in Kokrajhar district as NIA has so far circulated most wanted and head count Rs. 10 lakh against the leader of NLFB M Batha.
