Blood donation camp

Over 30 peoples volunteerly donated bloods on the blood dontaion camp organised by Marwari Yuva Manch,Kokrajhar and Jagriti Brach at Marwari Bhawan on Saturday in Kokrajhar. Madhav Prasad Sarma, Deputy Commssioner,Kokrajhar graced as chief guest on the camp.

Sarma, appreciated the camp being organised to donate blood and hope that the donating blood would be benefitted for needy persons among society. ‘It was a good step from the manch while donate blood,which is extending helping hand toward needy peoples’,said Sarma.

Vijay Bhura and Dilip Sethia, organisers of the camp said that they organised camp to donate blood in the region.

Doctor and medical staffs from Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital attended the camp.

Badminton Championship Concludes

Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. All together 95 teams of across the state  participated in a championship that saw a healthy sporting environment in the region which was organised by Kokrajhar District Badminton Association (KDBA). Lightning kills 3 in Chirang

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead. The deceased were identified as Dilip Mushahary (40), Rayanti Basumatary (40) and Mangkeswar Basumatary (45).

TB awareness programme held in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: For increasing the awareness about TB among pregnant mothers and adolescent girls in a meeting, Jon Andalon addressed the citizens and local health workers at Beswargaon and Guwabari Health Centres in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. Electricity to the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science center was cut off because there's an outstanding bill of 1.83 lakh. Due to power cutoff, the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre is currently not functional. Police launched crackdown on NLFB

Police administration have vowed for a strict operation against NLFB in Kokrajhar district as NIA has so far circulated most wanted and head count Rs. 10 lakh against the leader of NLFB M Batha. Rupsi Airport in Assam gets regular flight under RCS-UDAN
