ABSU remembered martyr Sujit Narzary

The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and Bodo community recalled martyr Sujit Narzary, first martyr of Bodoland movement seeking for separate Bodoland statehood, on his 29th death anniversary, was being observed at his martyr tomb at Bhatipara village in Kokrajhar on Sunday.

Martyr Sujit Narzary, was died on June 12(1987) due to attacked by anti-Bodoland while on way back to Kokrajhar after participating a grand mass gathering at Judges Field in Guwahati seeking separate Bodoland statehood. Mangalsing Narzary, father of Sujit Narzary paid floral tribute to Sujit at martyr tomb along the JD Road at Bhatipara on his martyrs day, was organized by South Kokrajhar anchalik committee, ABSU in the presence of villager and ABSU leaders.Janak Ujir,vice president Kokrajhar district unit ABSU hoisted half union flag and observed one minute silence condolence to mark the occasion. BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary attended the function and paid floral tribute to Sujit.Goyary said that Sujit Narzary, first martyr of Bodoland movement and we must remember him among society who sacrifice his life for the cause of Bodoland statehood.

Former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma paid homage to Sujit Narzary at the statue at Government HS & MP School complex in the presence of student and local peoples, was organized by Kokrajhar district unit ABSU Premjit Narzary, president Kokrajhar district committee ABSU hoisted union flag.

Former MP Brahma recalled Sujit Narzary, who lost his life for the cause of Bodoland statehood in early age and encourage us to follow the ideology of the movement spirit. Brahma has urged state and centre to take stern step while bringing permanent solution of Bodoland issue as soon as possible besides settlement of NDFB (P) issues through political dialogue. Jayanta Kumar Roy,principal of Govt HS & MP school, paid tribute to Sujit and remembered, who Sujit was a student who strongly participated the movement whole hearted and sacrifice his life for the cause of separate Bodoland state.

‘We must remember him (Sujit) because he sacrifices his life for the cause of Bodoland issue.The ABSU has been recalling him on his death anniversary as Bodoland martyrs day to mark him among the community’,he said.

Mangalsing Narzary,father of Sujit Narzary said, “I recalled my son Sujit Narzray, who died on today’s day in 1987 due to attacked by some unidentified miscreants. I do hope that one-day dream of Bodoland statehood would be created. Bodo people and organizations should be united and unity while meeting issues of Bodoland issues in coming days to attract government’s tendency to bring permanent solution”.

Security forces apprehended five poachers from Bongaon area under Bhuyanpara forest range in Manas National Park of Baksa district on Monday. The International Worker’s Day(May-Day) was observed on Monday at Rashmela ground in Kokrajhar district along with rests of the world. The day seek proper implementation of labours act while facilitating welfare of the workers grievances across the world. Security forces apprehended two-bike thieves and recovered three stolen bikes from  Gossaigaon on Sunday in Kokrajhar district.They were identified as Tenjit Basumatary and Pungja Basumatary of Lakrabari village under Gossaigaon PS.
Police recovered two AK-47 along with four magazines, a 9 mm pistol and 32 round live ammunitions recovered at Tamulphur area on Sunday during search operation at a house Sungkhra Basumtary in Baksa district. Based on input about illegally storation of arms,police carried out a search operation at Tamulphur and recovered arms along with live ammunitions.Sungkhra Basumatary is absconding since after incident.Investigation is on into incident,said a senior police officer.
The Federation for New State (FNS) has claimed that the present BJP led NDA government at centre has been initiating to create 10 more new states including Bodoland carving existing Assam state across the country by 2019 next to meet good governance in the country. Citizens from Basugaon of Chirang district blocked the vital road on Wednesday evening alleging the murder of  a JNV Kokrajhar student at Ranchaidham disrupting surface communication for a couple of hours. According to allegation, the family members got to know his ailment at 9 in the morning but as soon as he was rushed to the hospital, he was declared brought dead forcing his parents to call it a murder. Villagers from Basugaon area staged road blockade and took out a process with the body demanding  a CBI inquiry into the incident.

A class nine student of Dotma Girls High School hailed from Danggarkuti Brahmapur village is lying her home bed without any better traetment,who has been suffering from unidentified disesaes since few four-five months due to poverty in Kokrajhar district.
