Narzary to work for social integration

Rabiram Narzary, former ABSU president and BPPF, later merged with BPF party ahead assembly election in January last, won the poll battle with huge margin from 29-Kokrajhar West LAC in Kokrajhar district on BPF ticket. Narzary, in his first step in poll battle after merged with BPF party, got 64,423 votes and Dahit Chandra Brahma; AIUDF got 47,083 votes while former Rajya Sabha MP and UPP candidate, UG Brahma got only 18,629 votes. Narzary, after elected to the Assam assembly immediately in an exclusive interview said that he would stress for the social integration in his constituency, besides highlighting social issues to meet healthy development and unity among all sections of community. He thanked the party leaders, voters for giving him opportunity to contest the election from the constituency and assured that his party would try to fulfill their commitment. He also said the people of the region desired a change in the state and thus the people cast their votes for BPF, BJP and AGP. He said, ‘It is a joy of peoples, party always would be with citizens. I will dedicate myself for the welfare social uplift among all sections of communities in the constituency,' Narzary said.

On the ministerial berth in the state government, Narzary said that his party will place demand for four ministerial berth in the government to make development and integrity in the region. We must bring social uplift and development to pave way strong sustainable of the state in the field of developmental spirits, he added.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
