Weapons recovered

Border Security Force troops of Guwahati Frontier, deployed in Dhubri, in a joint operatio with Kokrajhar police recovered three country made guns, from Tipkai forest area today.

On specific information of BSF intelligence wing, Sector HQ Dhubri, about cached weapons in the forest area of Sishtijhora, near police out post Tipkai under PS-Bogribari in Kokrajhar district, BSF troops led by Ajay Pant, DC along with police led by OC SI Biswajit Deka Bagribari PS, launched a search operation in the area today. After a thorough search of the area, for almost three hours, the party recovered three country made guns, which were buried in the ground, deep inside the forest. These guns were seized and are being deposited with PS Bogribari.

The recovery of these weapons on the day of first phase of Assam Assembly Elections in Upper Assam and Barak Valley and in the run up to the second phase, in lower Assam, on April 11 is of significance. This successful operation has instilled a sense of security and safety in populace residing in the area.

Kokrajhar: UPPL chief Pramod Boro took oath as BTC Chief Executive Member along with 4 others as his executive member—2 from BJP and one from GSP on Monday. Kokrajhar: BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary has urged BJP leadership to help his party retain BTC hours after his party fell short of numbers.
