National Seminar on Hindi literature concludes


The 4th National Seminar on Hindi literature, organized by the Department of Hindi, Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC), Pasighat on the theme “Samajik Sanskritik Ekikaran Aur Bhaktikal” was concluded on Thurday. The two-day seminar was formally inaugurated by the East Siang Deputy Commissioner Isha Khosla yesterday on Mar-30, in presence of Prof. AK Pandey, Dean of CoH, Pasighat, JNC Principal Dr. Tayek Talom and litterateurs from various universities and academicians, held in the Upper Campus conference hall. The seminar was sponsored by the ‘Kendriya Hindi Sansathan’, Agra (GoI) and many luminous across the nation participated to make the seminar successful.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Khosla appreciated Department of Hindi in particular for organizing such type of seminar in JNC. She lauded the efforts of the college Principal Dr. Tayek Talom, Dr. PN Choubey (HoD, Hindi) and Dr. HN Pandey (Coordinator) and expressed hope that rich contributions of several speakers would help the participants. Khosla while pointing out that the seminar was aimed at promoting Hindi literature as it is a widely spoken language has suggested the college authority to conduct more and more seminar inviting students and teachers from several universities in near future too to attract the young generation to take more interest in the national language.

Dean of CoH, Pasighat and noted writer/poet Prof. AK Pandey who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour has spoken at length on ‘Hindi literature and Bhaktikal’ and role and responsibility of litterateurs in social building. Scholars from different parts have may come forward to know each other, crossing the barriers. JNC has organized the seminar to provide a platform of dialogue for them to create opportunities for academics to discuss issues of country's literary heritage. Taking privilege, Prof. Pandey opined that a healthy nation needs food security and India has touched new heights producing 103 million ton rice and 90 million tons wheat annually. Scientists and growers have achieved remarkable progress in this sector.

Earlier, Prof. Kailash Narayan Tiwari, Delhi University, in his keynote address presented a brief speech on Bhaktikal. He said behavioral changes in society and content in Hindi stories these days was quite different from that penned in the past. Though changes in the literature were a natural process, the present writers must introspect, he added.

The regional director of Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, (GoI) Guwahati, Prof. Hemraj Meena expressing his happiness on occasion has informed that his institution has produced nine thousand scholars so far and they are in the field in eighty five countries in the world to promote Hindi literature.

Dr. Tayek Principal Talom, Principal and Dr. SD Choudhury, Vice Principal of JNC gracing on the valedictory function today as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively, highly appreciated the organizing Hindi Department and suggested to conduct more seminar and workshops on other subjects to enrich knowledge. According to them, it was the best way of promoting the Hindi language and spiritual development by inviting people from across the nation. Duo welcomed the writers, poets and journalists to visit Arunachal Pradesh to know more about state’s beauty, tradition, art and culture and to explore the hidden treasures through their writings.

The two-day seminar witnessed many eminent litterateurs like Prof. VK Mishra (Tripura University), Prof. M Pandey (NEHU), Prof. Harish Kr. Sharma (RGU) and Dr. Oken Lego (RGU) and other dignitaries from all over the country.

Deputy Commissioner Isha Khosla reviewed the law and order situation at a meeting with the magistrate and police officers in Pasighat township on Tuesday.Khosla reviewed the crime scene discussed the charge sheet and production of UTPs. He also directed police to bring the investigation to its logical conclusion in a time bound manner. She instructed the DTO and the police to check vehicular movement at different locations in the township, regular basis.
