A total of fifteen candidates from the three state legislative assembly constituencies filed their nominations today on March 18 on the last day of submitting nominations in the office of the district Returning Officer for the ensuing state assembly elections to be held on April 4 next in the first phase.A DIPRO press release issued this evening by Ramanuj Hazarika, the district information and public Relations Officer said that a record number of nine candidates from 70 Mazbat LAC and three each from 64 Panery and 69 Udalguri ( ST) filed their nomination papers on the last day of the filing nomination papers for the April 4 first phase assembly elections,The DIPRO press release said that Teharu Gour of AIUDF, Raphael Kuzur of Indian National Congress (INC), Bikram Singh Basumatary (Independent), Abul Kasem (LJP), Sapna Daimari (independent), Baldev Chouhan (independent) , Manoj Kr. Tamuly (Indepemendent). Lal Soren (independent) and Girsish Ch. Choudhury (independent) submitted their nomination papers to Sadhana Hojai, district Returning Officer OF Udalguri election district to contest from 70 Mazbat LAC.On the other hand, three independent candidates from 64 Panery LAC Mahesh Ch. Sarmah, Sudhendu Mohan Talukdar and Bikan Ch. Deka submitted their nomination papers today. In the same way, three other independent candidates Jinus Daimari, Bipul Narzary and Santosh Madahi from Udalguri LAC submitted their nomination papers in the office of the RO here at Udalguri.It is to be noted that with this, a total 28 candidates are in fray from the three state legislative assembly segments of Udalguri district.
