RMC on crack over party supports

Cracks appeared in the Religious Minority Council(RMC),BTC region over the issue of supporting to the Bodoland Peoples Front(BPF) party in the ensuing Assam assembly election.The rift appeared in the council after president Sohrab Khan announced openly that RMC leaves to support the BPF party in the election.

Speaking the reporters on Friday at Kokrajhar Press Club,Rijaul Haque Sarkar,general secretary of the RMC told that the council has not been left the BPF party.We are still with BPF party,who was working all round development and welfare of the region.The reaction come after the Khan addressed the reporters at Kajalgaon in Chirang district on Thursday that RMC announced to leave the ruling party ahead assembly election. Sarkar has denied the statement of Sohrab said that it was his personal view, not of council decision to leave the ruling party in the region.

‘We have no any decision to leave the ruling BPF party at this juncture’,Sarkar adding said that the council still good term with the party and no any decision to step against ruling party. He has accused of that Khan has been maintaining link with Congress to gain his personal benefit that is why he is stating baseless remarks over the RMC in the region.

He has claimed that the RMC has not cracked within organisation,but Khan he hilself making baseless statement to show his personal interest. He also told that the RMC has been scheduled to hold central executive meeting on March 13 at Magurmari in Kokrajhar district and committee would discuss thoroughly over the present situation within organisation. Delegates from ten district committees are participating in the meeting and would discuss on the arisen situation within organisation.The council is likely replace president Khan for his unwanted remarks over supporting political party in the upcoming election.

Amid tight security in the run up to the Independence Day, security forces arrested two NDFB-S militants from Chirang district on Saturday.Identified as Philip Basumatary and Bipin Brahma, the Myanmar trained insurgents were caught during a combing operation from Amguri area in the wee hours.Police claimed to have seized a hand grenade and a pistol from their possession.

Bodoland University teachers on Friday staged strike in front of the varsity campus demanding an early panel to review their pay packages.Shouting slogans, the protesting teachers further demand a body to redress their grievances and measures to stop commercialization of higher education. Kokrajhar police apprehended six linkmen of NDFB-S from Aflagaon area under Serfanguri police station in Kokrajhar district today. Police arrested the linkmen following case registered with Serfanguri PS numbering 77/15 for extending support hardcore Ndfb-s cadre Sankhang in the area for a kidnapping in subversive activities in the run up Independence day celebration. The arrested were produced to court and remanded for 5 days for police custody. They have been identified as Lukuram Basumatary, Boldi Basumatary, Rwmwi Basumatary, Chiranjit Basumatary, Bonus Kumar Brahma and Sudem Basumatary. 
Security forces belonging to the army and police apprehended two cadres of National Santal Liberation Army(NSLA) rebels  from Karigaon area in Kokrajhar district today.Sources said based on inputs, a joint operation was launched by the army and police in Karigaon area and apprehended two NSLA rebels. The arrested rebels were identified as  Manoj Soren, 18, of Bamungaon and Barka Tudu, 20, of Lauripara, both in Chirang district. Two country made pistols, three live rounds, extortion receipt, two khukris, one mobile with two SIM cards were recovered from them.
