New court building at Golaghat
Guwahati High Court Judge Rishikesh Roy laid the foundation stone of a new court building at Golaghat on Saturday. The construction will be completed at an estimated cost of 29.56 crore. PWD & Law minister Ajanta Neog, Golaghat District session Judge Rabin Phukan, Deputy commisioner Anwarul Haque and President of BAR association M.N. Dutta were also also present during the programme.

The Golaghat police arrested two extremists on Friday night. Police recovered a pistol, three active bullets, demand notes, money receipts from them. The extremists have been identified as Rabul Bora of Kabaru Gaon and Dulal Lahon of Barpathar Tengani. Police said that the arrested duo are also car and bike lifters. A fire broke out at Golaghat town market on Sunday evening gutted seven business establishments into ashes and crore rupees property destroyed. There were no reports of any casualty.
