Junior Archery championship concluded
Kokrajhar district team spotted first with won 9 gold medals in the All Assam Inter District Junior Archery Championship,2015,concluded today after two-day programme scheduled at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar.
BTC executive member Rajib Brahma graced the prize dsitribution ceremny as chief guest and distributed prizes among aprticipants.
Kokrajhar won 15 medals including 9 gold,5 silver and none bronze.Bhergaon team bagged 11 medals incliding 3 gold,five silver and 3 bronze;Gossaigaon won 3 medlas including one gold,Sibsagar got five medals including two silver,Gaolpara bagged three bronze,NFR bagged four medals including one gold and dibrugarh bagged three medals including two silver in the championship.
Ajay Kumar Basumatary,vice president,Nabajyoti Basumatary,secretary of the Assal Archery Association,Simson Moshahary,sports organiser were present in the ceremony.

Security forces arrested four NDFB-S rebels along with arms from Kachugaon area in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district on Wednesday.Police said based on inputs, an operation was carried out in which the four NDFB-S rebels, including the outfit Gossaigaon section commander were apprehended.The arrested persons are identified as Gossaigaon section commander Eshilash Narzary alias Gathia, Pinjit Basumatary, Bishop Narzary alias Tapdung and Darashar Uzir. A 7.65 mm pistol, 5 live rounds ammunition, 4 mobiles were recovered from them.
The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) along with rest of the state, the students union also observed sit-in-demonstration today at Swahid bedi in Kokrajhar reiterating the demand for constitutional safeguard for the indigenous people of the state.The union activists staged demonstration from 12 noon to 2 pm with banner,placards and demanded indigenous peoples of the state should be given constitutional safeguard and peoples should not be face any harassed,the students union added.

Expressing serious concern over non implementation of sixth pay commission, 2006 and demanding early release of arrears of the teachers, the All Bodo Primary Teachers Association has decided to boycott classes on March 11 in the region. The association in a press release stated that teachers are not getting implementation of sixth pay commission still today due to insincerity of state govt. and BTC administration, besides teachers are deprived of getting arrears of six months.

BJP is going to contest in all 40 seats in the upcoming BTC council election without any alliance partner. This was declared by senior BJP leader and Sorbhog MLA Ranjit Das while addressing the press on Friday at Kokrajhar.
