AIDP Screening Camp Held At Namsai

A day-long Assistance to Disabled Persons (ADIP) Screening Camp was held at the Town Club Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh on Monday by Artificial  Limb Manufacturing  Corporation  of India (ALIMCO) which is a Government  of India undertaking  under Department  of Disability  Affairs  of the Ministry  of Social  Justice  and Empowerment. The programme was supported by local NGO, Socio-Economic  Welfare  Association (SEWA) and Mrinaljyoti Rehabilitation Centre ,Duliajan (Assam). About 128 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from all over the district were screened. The fresh screening and registration were done online.

A Medical Board was also set up for assistance and necessary certification  of the registered and screened persons. The main purpose  of the screening camp was to identify persons with or more than 40% disabilities to avail aids and assistance  which will be supplied free of cost by ALIMCO. The aids and assistance are to be supplied through the partner NGOs in the next couple of months. Mandatory certificates required  for availing the aids and assistance under ADIP Scheme (Assistance  to Disabled Persons) were 1) 40% disability certificate,2) Income Certificate  of Rd.15,000.00 per month and 3) Residential or ID Proof.

Under  ADIP Scheme Tricycle,Wheelchair,Crutches , Smartphone for low vision, Hearing Aid (BTE),smart cane, CP Chair,Braile Slate, Braile  Kit, Rollater and MSIED Kits are provided to the needy PADs as per Mr.Rajesh Das of ALIMCO, Guwahati.

The public health engineering & water supply department is bracing up for a grim financial crisis. An astronomical amount of money has yet to be realized from the central and state government offices in the division.
