Lokpeng Primary School celebrates Silver Jubilee

Lokpeng Primary School, Siang district celebrated Silver Jubilee yesterday on Jan-7 with pomp and show. Education Minister Tapang Taloh gracing the occasion as Chief Guest congratulated the school community and appreciated their efforts and enthusiasm. 

Addressing the gathering, minister Taloh said teaching is a noble profession and all should maintain its dignity. All should be forward looking and dedicate to take the society forward with proper reformation. Quoting “River always flows where there is suitable place and development comes where conducive atmosphere prevails”, Taloh said positive and right thinking would create suitable atmosphere for development and all should resolve to lift the society. All should rededicate to contribute for the upliftment of the community. The government is working of the welfare of the teachers and therefore the teachers in turn should realize their responsibilities and work with more dedication and missionary zeal so that the literacy rate of the state is raised, he opined. 

“I am doing my best for development of education department. State university at Pasighat, government general colleges in all districts, establishment of engineering colleges and various institutions for higher studies are exemplary achievements. Overwhelming response and supports have been received so far across the state and being the minister of the department I will do my best to honor the responsibility entrusted upon me by the people to bring radical change in the society and eradicate students’ sufferings” Taloh said. He would do right thing in right time to achieve the success, Taloh affirmed and sought fullest cooperation and supports so that government programs and policies are implemented properly and deprived sections of the society are benefited. Teachers-students-parents relations is of prime important. Hence, there should be extra efforts by the teachers to have friendly relation with the students. He also appealed the parents to cooperate with the teachers to mould the children in right direction. The minister advised the students to be punctual, sincere and attentive in studies and love and respect their teachers for their brighter future and to worthy citizens for the nation. They should avail optimum benefits being provided by the government for development of education, he further added in his speech.

Chief Guest Taloh who is also local MLA of the area sanction ten lacs for construction of a multipurpose community hall at Lokpeng-II village, five lacs for extension of community hall at Lokpeng-I, five lacs and three lacs renovation of Lokpeng-I and Lokpeng-II schools and two lacs for development of Lokpeng playground. 

Siang Deputy Commissioner N Lego gracing the occasion as Guest of Honour also spoke on the occasion. Guru-Sishiya relation should be maintained; he advised adding that teachers should update themselves with the latest methods and the requirement of the moment.

Trees getting uprooted and falling on electrical lines, resulting in hours of power outage is a common phenomenon during monsoon. Normal power supply remains heavily interrupted on the Pasighat-Pangin power line after a huge tree fell on a powerful a electric wire on Monday. Engineers along with departmental staffs have already been pressed into restoration process. It would take two days or more to reconnect the network.
