SC reviews NRC process

 The Supreme Court will consider Dispur’s additional affidavit requesting inclusion of the original inhabitants based on the Citizenship Act 1955, Rule 2003 in the updated NRC.

Official sources told Assam Times that the government has pleaded for changes in the modalities of the NRC updating exercise for unconditional inclusion of all the Scheduled Tribes (STs) both Hills and Plains and other six ethnic communities namely Morans, Mataks, Chutias, Tai-Ahoms, Koch-Rajbonghis and tea communities.
