National Pioneer College, Tangla one of the pioneering junior colleges of the entire district and state which had produced excellent results in recent years had organized a quiz competition among its students on the ocassion of ongoing college week. The interesting and high voltage quiz was conducted by amateur quiz master Hridoijyoti Ojah who himself is a 5th position holder in the HS Commerce 2014 from the institute.The quiz was initially hosted by Shankar Dutta Professor of Dept.of English. A total of five teams participated with three members each.After five battling rounds which comprised questions from current affairs,science,inventions,literature and general academic curriculum.The team of Pulakesh Pathak,Mousumi Baruah and Kankan Chaliha emerged as champions.While The team of Chinmoy Bharali,Mithinga Boro and Chiranjib Bharali emerged as 1st runners-up. The team of Anghshuman Das,Arohan Xavier Mushahary and Debabrat Deka emerged as second runners-up. The winning teams would be awarded with certificates and trophies on Annual prize giving ceremony of the college.
Udalguri: Eid-ul-Fitr was a joyous occasion in Tangla and surrounding areas of Udalguri district on Thursday. Muslims from Panery, Dimakuchi, Garuajhar, Ghagra, and Kalaigaon came together to celebrate the end of Ramadan.
Dressed in their finest ethnic wear, men and children thronged Eidgahs for special prayers. Hundreds gathered at the Bara Masjid Idgah Maidan and Banseria Eidgah Maidan in Tangla. Special sermons reflected on the significance of Ramadan fasting and emphasized the importance of communal harmony.
Children, especially, added to the festive spirit with their colorful outfits and excitement.
