BJP's pledge for power

A well attended rally pledged to vote BJP to power to help Assam get rid of utter mis governance and corruption regime of the Congress government.

In his address, BJP president Amit Shah said the Narendra Modi government at the Centre has a clear vision for the entire north eastern region. "The NDA government has inked the Indo-Bangla land deal to settle the influx problem," said Shah.

"We have cleared the decks for updating NRC. Why NRC works were not done before BJP came to power?," he said.

Criticizing Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, the BJP president said,"I want to ask Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi you must allow the people to know how much money released by the Centre has reached them."
State BJP president Sarbananda Sonowal criticized Gogoi alleging that he was going to strike poll deal with AIUDF to retain power in Dispur. "But the people are very sharp and they will not allow him to remain in power," said Sonowal.

He further said that the Bogibeel bridge over the river Brahmaputra will be completed by 2017.

Earlierm Shah arrived in Guwahati to be received by Sarbananda Sonowal and Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

After an assessment of the political situation in the state, the trio left for Dibrugarh. At around 2-30 in the afternoon, the BJP president left back for New Delhi.
