since 1952 about 632 schemes has been implemented for controlling erosion and flood of Assam. But more than 31000 cores of land and property lost in the last five decades.undoubtedly corruption of rulling authority is one of the major reasons of this pathetic situation of the state.the water resource department has been focusing negligence since its very establishment.even today various corruption allegations raise against the state water resource minister Bharat Narah. but he cannot deny it.it can be said that under the aegis of Mr. Narah looting of public is prevalent.

EXPLOSION AT HAJO: 2 DEAD OVER 42 INJURED

Our Correspondent from GuwahatiIn yet another string of violence, suspected ULFA militants made a powerful explosion in Hajo on Wednesday which left two persons killed leaving 42 injured. These include four children at a wholesale market in the temple town. Dibruagarh: It was a hectic day for Assam Health Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in Dibrugarh where he had come for a surprise visit of AMC. Heavy Downpour in North Lakimpur

Lakhimpur : There has been incessant rainfall in North Lakhimpur over the last few days. The heavy downpour has resulted in almost knee deep water in the main areas of the town.
