In a major achievement, Guwahati police and their Goalpara counterpart have arrested four youths in connection with the HDFC case where a Brink Arya driver had gone missing with Rs 1.80 crore in cash meant to be put in ATM counters.
According to Guwahati Police Commissioner, the arrested youths include the driver Rumud Barman who smartly disappeared from Ganeshguri with the entire amount in cash when three others from the bank and service provider went inside an ATM booth.
A joint team of police caught Rumud along with four others from Krishnai area and seized Rs 1.15 crore from them they kept with some of their relatives. Policemen are continuing the operation in search of yet another associates who has been absconding with Rs 60 lakh in cash.
