Kokrajhar Rhinos lift premier league

Kokrajhar Rhinos lift BTC-Army Goodwill football premier league defeating Parbatjhora Panthers 4-1 in the final match at SAI ground in Kokrajhar on Sunday. 

For Rhino, Ashok Brahma netted his first goal in 8 minutes and Rakheb Basumatary scored another goal in 33 minutes which led the team 2-0 in the first half. 

Bipul Kumar Pathak and Rakheb Basumatary scored two more goals in 59 minutes and 73 minutes for the Rhinos while Dhrubajyoti Brahma of Panthers reduced a goal scoring in 80 minutes in  the second half and lost to Rhinos 1- 4 goals. 

Rakheb Basumatary of Kokrajhar Rhinos was awarded best player in the league. 

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary attended the award giving ceremony as chief guest and handed over championship trophy and Rs 2 lakh in cash. 

Lt. General Sharad Chand gave away runners up trophy and Rs. 1 lakh in cash. 

GOC of Red Horn Division CP Mohanty told reporters that talented youths would be given best opportunity to go into prominent sports clubs in the country, besides giving govt job engagement. 

BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary, BTC executive members Rajib Brahma, Doneswar Goyary, noted sports personality and Arjuna awardee Bhogeswar Baruah, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner, Madhav Prasad Sarma, SP Shyamal Prasad Saikia, SAI director Dr Subash Basumatary were prominent among those who attended the award giving ceremony.
