Gogoi reiterates appeal to Modi

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi reiterated his request to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to restore the Special Category Status for the north-eastern states although the process is believed to have gathered momentum.

In his letter to Modi, the chief minister urged the centre to restore the funding pattern in the centrally sponsored projects fearing that it might hamper the process of development.
