Gautom, Siddique take oath

Gautom Roy and Siddique Ahmed took oath a new cabinet ministers on Tuesday. Governor PB Acharya administered the duo the oath of office and secrecy at a brief function at the Raj Bhawan in the morning. Chief minister Tarun Gogoi along with his cabinet colleagues, APCC leaders and parliamentary secretaries attended the function. Gogoi sacked both of them last year.

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi is confident that Congress will be able to retain Dispur. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Tuesday, Gogoi said that his party still has good base in the rural Assam. Gogoi said BPF still is an ally of Congress. The BJP has announced the second list of of candidates for Assam Assembly polls. Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.
