Dhubri bandh receives mixed response

The 12 hour Dhubri district bandh called by Bazrang dal today have received mixed response in Dhubri district. The bandh has virtually no effect in the district head quarter Dhubri as all the local shops and main market are seen open. The various local schools, government offices and banks of the Dhubri town is remained open.  Though some of the long distance passenger busses  are off the road, the short distance buses are moving as usual. Like Dhubri town, the Bilasipara also have no effect, a local reporter informed.

On the other hand the bandh is total in Golakganj areas of the district, as per the information so received. It is also learnt that the Dhubri police makes ellaborate security arrangements for the movements of the trucks entering Assam through the Sagoliea inter state gates and goods carrying trucks are moving in national highways under the police secuirty.

Mentionable that on the night of 7th September, the Golakganj police arreseted 11 persons including BJP Dhubri district vice president Premsukh Sethiea., all of them been sent to jail after producing Dhubri court yesterday. After that incident, it was alleged by Bazrang Dal that the police is trying to safe gaurd cattle smuglers and arrested innocent people.

"It seems that they were been invited last night by Golakganj police related to some thing on cattle smmugling. During their discussion with police at Golakganj thana, some unknown people threw stones to that thana.  The thana was already been ghearod by a large sections of people alleging the police involvment with cattle smmugling", a senior journalist of that areadescribed the incident of Golakganj thana of 7th September . He further revealed that after that stone pelting incident, the Golakganj police used tear gase and blank fired to disperse the mob.
