Himanta to resign today!

Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will quit as Congress MLA on Tuesday. Dr Sarma who is arriving in Guwahati from Sivasagar in the afternoon is set to meet the Assam Assembly secretary to clear the formalities to resign as Congress MLA from Jalukbari constituency. 

According to sources, if it is delayed on Tuesday, he will complete the formalities on Wednesday. Dr Sarma was elected as MLA from Jalukbari constituency in 2001 with Congress ticket. He was reelected in 2006 assembly polls. He won the polls for the third consecutive term in 2011.
