Reinstate SP: HC to govt

The Gauhati High Court has asked the government to recall Mukul Saikia as SP in the chief minister’s vigilance and anti corruption within 7 days.

Hearing a PIL alleging corruption by Rakesh Paul, a division bench of the court asked him to restart the probe into the corruption charges against the APSC chairman.

Notably, during his stint as SP attached to the chief minister’s anti corruption and vigilance cell, Saikia gathered lots of disturbing evidence against Paul who allegedly amassed huge wealth within a short span of time.
