PIL deadlock: SC judges to meet on Tuesday

The Supreme Court will devise a mechanism to end the PIL logjam in the Gauhati High on Tuesday. Senior Judges of the apex court are expected to participate in the meeting.

They include Justice Ranjan Gagoi, Justice A.M. Sapre and Justice Amitabh Roy who will deliberate on the contents of the memorandum in question and to take remedial measures. The striking lawyers came to know it when a Bar Association delegation met Chief Justice of India HL Dattu at his residence in New Delhi on Sunday.

Led by Gauhati High Court Bar Association president Apurba Kumar Sharma, the delegation was assured that the CJI would look into the grievances mentioned in the memorandum, describing them as serious, which and needs immediate redressal.
