Luitparia Sanskritik Gosthi, a local cultural unit of the city, is making brisk preparations to celebrate legendary artist Dr Bhupen Hazarika's 89th birth anniversary. A colourful cultural function, quite befitting the great legend, has been planned on the momentous occasion that will take place on September 1 at the Rabindra Bhawan. The cultural group is leaving no stone unturned to make it an occasion to remember. Rehearsals on songs and dances based on Dr Hazarika's immortal creations are going on with all its sincerity and dedication. Incidentally, this will be the eight successive time that the cultural organisation will be observing Dr. Hazarika's birth anniversary. The show, expected to be attended by noted celebrities from different walks of life, will have performances by quite a number of artistes, including eminent singer and the youngest brother of Dr Hazarika, Samar Hazarika. Interestingly, Samar Hazarika has been performing in Luitparia Sanskritik Gosthi's birth anniversary celebrations of the legendary artist since 2008. Child sensation Rodali Bora will showcase a series of dance performances. As informed by Luitparia Sanskritik Gosthi's general secretary Rosy Bora, the evening will also feature violin presentations by the internationally renowned Manoj Barua and the well-known Purabi Sarma. A number of veteran and upcoming artistes will dance to the immortal tunes of Dr Hazarika under the direction of Ranjit Gogoi, a noted dhol exponent, danseuse Sitarani Hazarika and young choreographer Akash. Luitparia Sanskritik Gosthi wishes the help and support of all the fans and admirers of the legendary artist.
