Major volcano of violence erupt in Bodoland: Who is responsible

Bodoland is set to boil again. The real exercise for a full scale fratricidal clash between the former BLT cadres and NDFB is going on in full swing if the sensational revelation by some youths engaged in this notorious preparation is to be believed.

According to information, a section of BLT top cadres have been recruiting some youths in the area luring monetary benefits before they are rushed for arms training in Kheroni near Nagaland. A section of these youths who have landed in this trap are undergoing training at a building in Kokrajhar but silently.

Widely known as Bodo Royal Tigers Force, the new rebel outfit has been unleashing a reign of terror in Bodoland with a sole aim to finish the NDFB rebels now in ceasefire. These new rebels have been involving in the recent string of attacks at the various places in the forms of murder and mayhem besides burning several houses and NDFB cadres.

Sources here say, these youths hailing from economically backward areas have been recruited for salary on monthly basis and have been instructed to face public as the BPF workers. They have been behind the attack at the residence of NDFB commander. Thy killed Bodosa Narzary, attacked the Ghoskata based NDFB camp and what not.

Unlike NDFB, BLT these newly born rebel outfit has no specific goal. They have been recruited, trained up to handle the AK-47 rifles only to kill the NDFB cadres. A few top ranked former BLT cadres have been imparting training to these youths after being recruited. These budding youths have been asked to shot dead NDFB cadres as soon as they are sighted. It means these NDFB cadres should have no presence in the greater BTAD areas. But of late, fed up with this suicidal move, several youths recruited and after receiving arms training have left the outfit. Their family members have been receiving threats over telephone from the BRTF to send them back to avoid serious consequences.

The entire recruitment process starts from VCDC who supplies these youths after recruitment luring monetary benefit. According to allegations, one VCDC member Manoj Basumatary has recruited several youths before being rushed to the training camps.

If this continue the devastating clash among the Bodos are imminent. But the Government and BPPF are indulged in mud slinging keeping the BPPF(P) in the midst.

Dear sir, Things are going on changing. But this Bodo peaople never changing. They never us to learn from others because they think themselves to be honest. They have never used to give up once they have learned. Fighting among brothers is a daily routine of this momment in bodo community. NDFB, BLT(now dibanned), BRTF and what more......? Even we the common people are often confused to whom we support. Its time for we people to rethink deeply once more and chellenge with the changing world. Ananta NEHU

My father often narrated to me that the first Council office and the entire budget of Mizo District Council, at the outset, was run with funds borrowed from Mr. Pasung (or Pachhunga), known to be the richest man in the area in those days. Mr. Pasung was a Hmar. Lusei speaking group in Mizo District, later declared Union Territory and now a State, with arriere pensee, gradually iconised Lusei dialect as Mizo, deftly utilizing the council machinery as tool for Lusei propagation – and, today, Lusei is synonymous to Mizo. As you dawdle along the streets and bazaar in Aizawl, you would often stumble upon an ordinary Hmar young generation who is ready to pounce on you the moment you...

The denigration of the parliamentary democracy by almost all the political parties is a matter of grave concern for all of us. The criminals and corrupt people have thronged the political parties; and money and muscle power have been reigning everywhere. Integrity is being replaced with corruptibility. The looting of the public exchequer has become the sole objective of joining a political party. Politics turns worse and ugly at the time of elections. The unscrupulous politicians make the best use of the gullibility of the vast majority of the rural and semi-urban voters and indifference of the educated, urban- middle- class citizens. To make the people aware of their political rights...
