A week long workshop on Bodo folk traditional dance and music was concluded on Sunday at Bodofa cultural complex here in Kokrajhar.
Over fifty participants from various districts of the state participated under experts and resource persons on Kham, Flute, Violin and Jotha during the workshop, organised by All Bodo Cultural Organisation in association with BTAD administration.
Traditional various folk dance of Bodoland music was presented during the closing ceremony with colourful music instruments under super vision of song and music notation in its first ever formal standard in the cultural field.
The workshop displayed various types of Bodo folk traditional dance and musical categories which are being in the stages in various function and ceremonies.
BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary graced the closing function as chief guest and addressed about growing up of Bodo cultural values among society.
Among others, noted Bodo actor Tikendrajit Narzary, noted Bodo film director Rahendra Brahma, dramatist Mathura Kanta Basumatary, Billa Kumar Brahma president of the organisation were present in the function.
Jogeswar Brahma, secretary of the cultural organisation told that the workshop was organised to creating environment of dance and music among society in modern tactic as the cultural organisation has been working to include into academic line in university and colleges in the state. He said that the workshop focuses on the formal choreograph through modern tactic and utilisation of the tradition of the Bodo dances. He had expressed his hopeful that such kind of workshop will extend support to build a healthy cultural upliftment in the state.
